Owner Voting

From the Commissioners:

Owner voting for rules, rule changes, and league issues has now been voided. the only voting will be in opinion polls that can not change league policies or rules.

The events of the last few months has only shown that there is a subversive group within our organization who insists on riling up issues just to try and change league policies for their own benefits (and I'm not refering to DTB necessarily, but a group of several owners who have shown this behavior consistently). The call for a league vote becomes a constant battle cry for every single issue, and that has lead to more division and hard feelings than anything else.

When we allowed in the second year that owners get more say, it was because we felt that as a group we would do things for the greater good. The only thing the last couple of years has shown us is that some people enjoy the chaos a lot more than the greater good.

The old addage too many chefs spoil the broth has never been more true.

So we have made the decision to return the seat of power back to the Office of the Commissioner. We consider the owner voting as a failed social experiment and realize now that for this league to succeed it needs one voice, and that voice will now be the office of the commissioner. Back in 2004 when I wanted to start a fantasy football league again, I said I would only do it if Neil was co-commissioner. We created a checks and balances as a two commissioner league to prevent the bias of just one person from skewing rulings in the league.

We have realized that this move today returns our league back to a more functional and linear state. There can be no more politicking amongst owners, because the decision lies between Neil and myself. I'm sure these same teams that created such diversion will not change that practice, but now that subversive influence can not poison the entire the league.

Although i understand that everyone has some stake in the league as in they pay for an entry fee, etc. in the end this league was started by Neil and I, and it should be run by Neil and I. No one is bound by any contract to stay in the league if they do not agree with this policy change.

This is not to say we want discussion to stop. Your concerns are still very important to us and anything you feel might make the league better, we'd be happy to hear. The only thing is that Neil and I will be making decisions to accept, deny, modify the league.

I'm sure this is upsetting to some of you and some of you never respond to anything so God knows if you care. Either way, unfortunately, this is how it has to be.

Thanks,
Sunil, OSC
Neil, ISC
